I know that it’s hard to believe that food can act just like a drug, but it does and the side effects are noticeable in your diet, body shape, weight and it can put your life in great danger due to the disease that are induced by obesity.

Also, the prolonged stress can cause many malfunctions of the endocrine system, which cause changes in the hormone levels. A stressful person will have a higher level of adrenaline in his blood and besides that the glands will release a higher level of cortisol and corticotrophin releasing hormone.

Side effects of stress and weight gain

Apart from a change in weight, there are many other diseases caused by stress, including heart diseases which is one of the prime cause of death in the world. Stress can also cause insomnia. Insomnia is a state in which a person face difficulty in falling asleep. There are several serious issues related to insomnia including emotional problems, low energy level, decreased ability  too work properly and think properly. Even it can trigger weight gain and obesity.

People do not eat properly when they are stressed. This unorganized schedule can make them miss home cooked meals and follow a junk food diet.  This type of diet is very rich in saturated fats, which is the number one enemy in the battle with extra weight.

How to reduce stress and the weight gain

To avoid the change in weight caused by stress, you should try to calm down. There are lots of ways to do it. A nice vacation or a weekend away with your friends can do wonders for your health. I know that it’s hard to believe, but a 20 minute relaxation period every day can also reduce your stress level. Listen to music, take a walk in the neighborhood, or just chill out and think about nice places, all these simple thighs can keep you away from physical issues.

Before you start a weight loss diet, make sure that you got rid of the stress and that you are mentally prepared to follow a strict exercise and eating program.
